From Mike about this image:

• Western Point, Acadia NP •

Behind The Scenes graphic with EXIF in the comments.

I was a “cloud hater” when I first started shooting at night but in the past couple years I’ve grown to appreciate the dramatic interest they can add to a Milky Way photo. This image is an exposure blend of the sky and foreground taken at Western Point on the Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park, Maine in July 2016. —
Pro Tip: Shoot the sky first or the foreground first? It depends on the situation and how efficient you need to be with your time. If you have a limited amount of time to capture the MW at a spot like this (e.g. lining up parallel with the trees & coastline) and you’re planning to shoot a long exposure (5-10 mins, etc) for the foreground, shoot your sky shots first since the MW core moves quickly in the sky, then take your time with the foreground shots. On the other hand if you’re waiting for the MW to get in position where you want it to be, shoot the foreground shots first to make sure the alignment will work and by the time you’re done, the MW may be right where you want it.
